I believe in the value of art as a basic tool of communication and at the other extreme as one of the pinnacles of human potential. In creativity, we can express some of our awe at finding ourselves here: our joy and despair at what we see and experience. Finding beauty in our surroundings can be both humbling and uplifting. I find solace and inspiration in the might and force of wild places, and in the beauty, calm and grace of nature.
